Dear Mr. Chong,

I am writing to thank you for raising your concerns at the Canada-China committee questioning regarding the Chinese Communist Party (the “CCP”) allegedly having at least three “police stations” in the Toronto area. As a constituent of Ms. Gray’s riding, I have become increasingly concerned about the influence of the CCP on Canadian policy, and this latest news just provides further proof that our current federal government has been compromised by outside influences. As you alleged during the questioning, it appears that CCP “police officers” have been entrenched in Canada to intimidate Chinese-Canadians and coerce them to return to China (presumably through the threat of violence against relatives still on the mainland).

As per usual, I am not even surprised that the Liberal government has allowed this disgusting overreach by communist influences on our true north, strong and free. We are all aware of Mr. Trudeau’s fondness for China’s “basic dictatorship”. We are also all well aware at this point that the Liberals did not independently research the COVID-19 “pandemic” at all in 2019. Rather, our government took the CCP’s assertions regarding fatality rates and necessary quarantine requirements at face value, and decided to lock away healthy Canadians and deprive them of their Charter rights and freedoms for over two years in the name of “public health”. I’m sure you remember the footage that first came out of Wuhan, showing citizens dropping dead on the street corners only to be whisked away by white-suited “health” officers; it is a bit odd that over the course of the pandemic on Canadian soil, not only was no one able to recreate such video footage, but the year over year mortality rate didn’t actually increase. Truly perplexing.

I am writing to you today to request that you launch a formal inquiry into the Liberal government’s conflicts of interest with the CCP, as well as an inquiry into how widespread the CCP influence within Canada has become. I’m sure you are aware that large investment firms have been buying up Canadian farmland over the past few decades; is it not time to launch a formal investigation into the propriety of Canadian land potentially being purchased by the enemy of democracy, Mr. Xi Jinping, and his agents? And is it not time to start taking CSIS allegations regarding Chinese influence over Canadian politicians seriously? The past few years have shown Canadians just how little our own government is invested in supporting our unalienable western rights and freedoms; it is time for the Conservatives to stand up for all Canadians (and those Chinese citizens who have emigrated to Canada to flee communist influences) and tell the Liberals these are not Canadian values, nor will Canadians tolerate this attack on our democracy.

I thank you for your attention to this matter.

On behalf of Michael Chong, thank you for your email concerning foreign interference by the People’s Republic of China (PRC). Michael and his Conservative colleagues share your concerns about PRC foreign interference and continue to raise this with the Liberal government via statements, in question period, and in committees as you’ve noted here.

Michael believes that foreign police stations are illegal and are a violation of international law, Canadian law and diplomatic norms. The government should use its full power to shut down these police stations immediately.

Michael recently raised this issue in the House of Commons: https://twitter.com/MichaelChongMP/status/1578427514074304512.

Foreign interference is an issue that Michael and his Conservative colleagues continue to monitor here in Canada. Canadians are facing growing security threats: a global pandemic, great power rivalries, transnational criminal organizations, terrorism, disinformation campaigns and cyber-attacks all pose ongoing threats to Canadians.

Michael and the Conservatives are focused on protecting Canadian democracy from foreign interference. Michael will continue to raise these threats from foreign actors against Canadian residents, including recently reported operations against diaspora communities in Canada, with the government, until they act.

Once again, thank you for your email.

Sincerely,

Legislative Assistant Office of the Hon. Michael Chong, M.P. | Bureau du l’Hon. Michael Chong, député Wellington-Halton Hills
