Good afternoon,
I understand that the Liberal Government is (yet again) trying to expedite the passing of a censorship bill by trying to cut corners and silence its opponents. Last year, you will recall that Mr. Trudeau and Mr. Guilbeault tried to rush an 11th hour censorship bill through the Senate prior to summer holidays, and now it appears that the Liberals are yet again trying to shortcut democracy by limiting the Heritage Committee’s testimony regarding the above-referenced bill to a mere 20 hours.
I think we can all agree that many stakeholders need to be heard prior to any bill being passed that limits Canadian freedoms of expression and speech, especially one where the previous and present Ministers of Heritage have lied about both the intention and the plain language of this bill. Twenty hours to debate permanently removing God-given and unalienable freedoms is completely inappropriate. Please remove this time limit so that every Canadian who has a concern about this unconstitutional bill has a chance to express their concern and be heard.
As an unvaccinated and government-critical Canadian, I can only imagine the censorship that Mr. Trudeau will enforce against my social media accounts should this bill be passed. I truly thought that all Canadians in our government cared about supporting the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms; you can imagine my disappointment over the past few years as I have realized that the citizens of Canada are under constant siege by this very government. (Also as an unvaccinated Canadian, I’m fully aware of what this government has in store for dissenters; as you are aware, over the past 6 months, Mr. Trudeau has incited violence and hatred against the unvaccinated, prevented the unvaccinated from flying in violation of their Charter rights, frozen the bank accounts of peaceful protestors and threatened to give away Canadian sovereignty to the WHO, all without proper legal authority; at this rate, we are a stone’s throw away from becoming a satellite state of China.)
I thank you for your attention to this matter, and also for standing up for democracy in a very critical time in Canadian history.
